LOOK WITHIN
look within, be not afraid to feel whatever's there
first step is to look inside, don't hide from your own fearface it, the disgrace you felt was undeserved, let go
pull the curtain up and let the Light shine through to you
slow your steps, turn back, don't run away from the Child within
take her gently by the hand get to know her, cry
hold her closely on your lap, see if she will smile
she is that deep part of you you've suppressed so long
she won't die, tho' you've wanted her to, but she's always been among
your terror, anger, rage and doubts of your own sanity
the babe began her life involved in hushed profanity
forgive, forgive again! what do you have to lose?
confront the horrors you perceive that were a part of youcry out in rage and beat your fists, fight the ghosts inside
they will not die, they cannot die if you must live that lie
dig up the hurts, cut them to shreds, embrace the Child within
get to learn to give her love, the love she never had
dig up the fears, the reasons why your hardened heart's so cold
then read your story like a book before you grow too old
don't let what's buried deep inside destroy your Here and Now
dig it up and look at it then if you think you could
burn it in a funeral pyre and let it go for good
let the young girl hid within find her real Soul
realize she is your strength, the way to feel more whole
to her be kind with gentleness and help her feel at ease
then you shall integrate yourself and truly live in peace.
