September is here
Sept 1st from Cherokee Feast of Days by Joyce Sequichie Hifler:We may be physically bound to this earth, but we are eagles in our spirits. Wo ha li, an eagle, is the symbol of freedom with power to soar. Their nests are aeries built high above all other nests where nothing can touch their young. When wo ha li sets its wings to catch the wind, its flight is one of grace and beauty. Wo ha li takes time out to renew itself, to pull out old feathers so new ones can grow in. The eagle also removes portions of its beak and new growth replaces it. We can soar as well. Our spirits have no limitations and we can set our goals to any height we aspire to reach. When we set our minds and spirits to do something, nothing can bring us down except ourselves. But we do need to take time to rest and renew so that our flight is full and free right to the goal!
Your feet shall be as swift as forked lightning; your arm shall be as the thunderbolt, and your soul fearless.

When I read the above for today's date, I knew I wanted to post it here. I want to think of the eagle as a symbol of freedom with grace and beauty, renewing itself and soaring above the earthly problems of our world. I don't want to think of it as a predator (though I know it is by nature) ... and I don't want to think of America as a predator with its symbol as the Eagle, but one of grace and beauty, soaring with the power to know freedom.
Aspire to soar, dear ones, and I will also. Set your spirits free and honor your Highest and Best Selves. Many blessings to you for a new month of harvesting. Enjoy the end of your summer and welcome the beginning of that beauty that is autumn with its colors denoting the beauty and grace appearing before winter's more bleakness sets in, and even that, too, has its own set of beauty, but I just don't want to think about that right now ;oD
Much love from your SisSTAR XOXO

Quotations
"By going along with feelings, you unify your emotional, mental, and bodily states.
When you try to fight or deny them, you divorce yourself from the reality of your being."
-Jane Roberts,
Nature of Personal Reality
and
"That which oppresses me, is it my soul trying to come out in the open, or the soul of the world knocking at my heart for its entrance?"
-Rabindranath Tagore
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This has been quite a week and a half or so ... or just the whole year has been quite something. The heatwave has been totally unwelcomed by me, except it tends to bring out lots of butterflies and flowers, long as the rains keep things watered because lord knows we choose not to spend the resources or the money to water the outdoors, except for keeping the birdbaths filled and a few treasured potted plants outside. The ones inside are flourishing, helps me know that my mind is fairly balanced and even, so long as I can keep my plants alive and even blooming. A big hawk mostly grey with a white head stayed in the birdbath today while I watched it with my binocs. It had orange eyes and was fierce looking. I hoped that its back tail feather would somehow snap off and land on the ground for me to gather ... grey with dark nearly black stripes down it. See several beautiful deer, fruit on the ground in dad's old orchard ... bound to be around. Lots of critters everywhere. What drives me nuts right now are what I call the "hot bugs" -- the cicadas buzzing away to let you know, hey, bitch! it's gonna be hot out there! I don't like to be hot ... it makes me ornery! Call me the Ice Queen! Winter baby! ..........well, obviously I'm just on some rant that won't end so all I really wanted to do was post a few quotes and a few nice photos ... and to me, the wolf is a gentle soul peering around the birch shyly ... not viciously looking at "Little Red" walking out into her woodsy adventure! (Photo of "Adventure" OSHO Zen Tarot), (Photo of wolf...don't remember).
Goodnight from your SisSTAR
PEACE! Peace within, peace without, peace over, under, sideways, down, peace around, peace, a sigh of loving contentment, peace and serenity....................^;^prrrrrrrrrxoxo

Not bad for a Tuesday!
GOT A LOT OF COMPLIMENTS TODAY AND A GREAT HUG!
HAD A FREE LUNCH EVEN WITH A CHOC BROWNIE COOKIE!
SOMEONE GAVE ME A BRACELET SHE JUST BROUGHT BACK FROM CUBA!
GOT A GREAT LETTER WITH HEARTS AND MUSIC NOTES CONFETTI!
SOME GREAT EMAILS!!
A BLOGGIE FRIEND IS BACK BLOGGING! (missed you!)
MY CAT "LET" US FEED HIM FROM OUR HANDS ^;^
But one thing ... a good friend's Mother's funeral was today and though we didn't go, he sent us the poem he wrote for his Mom ... and we will be there for him when he needs us as best we can.
We also miss the little stray cat we named Creamy who has come to our house nearly every day for well over a year or more and, we think, we real owners moved away and took him. He wasn't very well cared for and liked being at our house. We didn't even think he HAD a home from the way he was, but he always went back in a certain direction and never spent the night, though he began trusting us enough to let us pick him up, pet him, wash his eyes out, cut mats out of him, clean his wounded paws, play with us and our cat Tuffy ... and he got brave enough to come inside and even get on our sofa and sleep. He ate really well at our house and he was so relaxed he slept right on his back all spread out. I guess it wasn't meant to be, but we will always keep a little place in our hearts for Creamy Boy. He was white with very pale orange points like a Siamese and he had beautiful blue crossed eyes. Tuffy keeps looking for him to show up. He hasn't been here since our friend's Mom died last Tuesday. Like the song from George Harrison, "All Things Must Pass" as difficult as that lesson is to learn.
